As season 26 of The Voice comes to a close, fans are already anticipating the show’s return. Season 27 will see an array of new coaches, contestants, and guest appearances. With that in mind, three of the four current coaches are seemingly not set to take on the big red chair in season 27. One of the most disappointing exclusions among next season’s coaches is none other than Snoop Dogg.

Season 26 marked Snoop Dogg’s first time on The Voice in the capacity of a coach, and to say the least, he was a hit. Between his on-screen charisma and raw coaching ability, Snoop instantaneously became a fan favorite. Thanks to his innate talent, the fans have to ask—Why is it reported that he is not returning for season 27?
Snoop Dogg’s First-Time Success on ‘The Voice’
Snoop Dogg has made quite an impression on the show, his pupils, and the fans watching across the world. In his inaugural season as a coach, Snoop Dogg not only took Jeremy Beloate to the top five but also garnered a total of 14 contestants on his team. In addition to Beloate, Snoop Dogg also helped Christina Eagle reach the live semi-final round.
However, Snoop’s success does not stop there, as he and Beloate have the opportunity to make history tonight. Tonight, at 9 pm EST, Snoop Dogg and Beloate just might win the whole thing. If they do, Snoop Dogg would become one of the few coaches to win The Voice in their debut season. Thanks to all of his success and likability, folks are seemingly confused as to why he won’t be back for The Voice season 27.
Not Forever, Just for Now
Even though Snoop Dogg will not return to season 27 as a coach, that doesn’t mean he’s gone for good. Before Snoop became a coach, he appeared on the show in season 20 as a mentor during the Knockout rounds.
So, there is a high likelihood that tonight will not be Snoop Dogg’s swan song. Instead, you just might have to wait a while to see him back on The Voice’s stage. In season 27, Snoop Dogg, Reba McEntire, and Gwen Stefani will be replaced with John Legend and Adam Levine’s return to the show, alongside first-time Kelsea Ballerini and season 26 coach Michael Bublé.
