‘American Idol’ Season 22 Runner-up Will Moseley Releases New Song “Everything but Me”

Back in February, American Idol kicked off season 22 of the hit show. Marking the last season with Katy Perry, fellow judges Luke Bryan and Lionel Richie soaked in every moment with the star. But at the same time, the three worked to find the next American Idol. Throughout the season, viewers met singers like Emmy Russell, Abi Carter, and Will Moseley. Making it far in the competition, Moseley found himself the runner-up as Carter went on to win the season. Although not becoming the next American Idol, Moseley continues to share his love for country music with his newest song “Everything But Me.”

Releasing his new song on Friday, December 6th, Moseley found inspiration for his new song after watching a few of his friends go through problems with their relationships. Able to channel those feelings into “Everything But Me”, the lyrics included, “I bought a house with a big backyard / Fancy clothes and a brand new car / When she left she took everything she pleased / Let me tell you she wanted everything but me.”

For Moseley, country music wasn’t his first career path as he played Division III football in college. After suffering several concussions over the course of two seasons, the singer decided to hang up his pads and grab a guitar. Instantly falling in love with music, Moseley turned his attention to his newfound passion.

Will Moseley Returns Home Thanks To Zac Brown Band

Besides sharing his excitement about his new song on social media, Moseley also prepared to take the stage at a special New Year’s Eve show at the State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia. Gaining an invitation to open for the Zac Brown Band, the singer said, “Zac Brown provided me with one of the coolest opportunities of my life, and now he has extended that opportunity again.”

Other than rubbing shoulders with the Zac Brown Band before, Moseley’s upcoming New Year’s Eve performance is somewhat of a homecoming for the singer as he was raised in Hazlehurst, Georgia. And if that wasn’t enough, he will also hit the road in December for a few touring shows alongside Colin Stough, another former American Idol contestant .
