Barry Manilow Says He’ll Play for the “Rest of My Career” with New Lifetime Residency

Paul McCartney, Elton John, Billy Joel, and Stevie Nicks are some of the older musicians still capable of putting on a grand performance. However, don’t count out the one and only “Copacabana” singer, Barry Manilow. The 81-year-old Manilow is just one of those musicians who will play music until the wheels fall off and he put that in writing upon announcing his Lifetime Residency at the Westgate Resort & Casino’s International Theater in Las Vegas.

Manilow has had the longest-running Las Vegas residency of all time. Last year, when he played his 637th Las Vegas show, Manilow surpassed Elvis Presley for the longest Las Vegas Residency of all time.

Manilow’s Las Vegas residency stint has been 20 years in the making, as he first performed in 2005 at Las Vegas’ Hilton Hotel. His new deal is a continuation of his “The Hits Come Home” residency at the Westgate Hotel. Which, has run consistently since 2021.

Barry Manilow’s Official Announcement

In the official Westgate statement, Manilow stated, “It’s been an incredible journey performing at the International Theater” and “David Siegel and the Westgate team have been like family to me, and I am deeply grateful to have the opportunity to call Westgate home for the rest of my career.”

Manilow’s celebration of his new lifetime residency didn’t stop with his official statement. The singer also took to Instagram to share the news by posting a compilation of his residency’s best moments. Additionally, he wrote in the post, “Have you been to Barry’s house? You’re invited to see #MANILOW at @westgatevegas all year long!”

Manilow’s friend and Westgate founder, David Siegel also made a few comments on the matter. “Barry Manilow is a generational artist and a dear friend” and “Over the years, we have built a personal and professional relationship that is truly special, and I am honored to offer Barry the opportunity to perform at Westgate for a lifetime,” stated Siegel.

It seems Barry Manilow is trying to break his own record for the longest-running residency of all time. Frankly, it’s just a matter of time perform the man performs his 1,000th Las Vegas show.
