Family and the holidays sit in a tandem relationship. One without the other just doesn’t seem right. So, when one tragically loses a loved one the next holiday is seemingly always the hardest. This sensation does not discriminate and it certainly does not pick and choose its victims. That being so, Jelly Roll’s wife, Bunnie Xo, seems to be undergoing this experience thanks to the passing of her father.

Last May, Bunnie’s father, Bill, passed away after a long battle with cancer. Bunnie Xo and Bill had a complicated relationship, and Bunnie has often referenced their tempestuous bond to the public. Nevertheless, Bunnie rekindled her relationship with her father once he was diagnosed.
Before his passing, Bill moved to Tennessee to be closer to his daughter and receive his cancer treatment. Prior to moving to Tennessee, Bill was diagnosed with cancer in 2022 and battled his illness behind closed doors. Subsequently, he entered hospice in November of 2023 in Tennessee. Furthermore, Bunnie’s mother, Vanessa, passed in 2022.
Bunnie attested to the pain her parents’ passing has brought on in a recent TikTok post about her first Thanksgiving without either of her parents.
Bunnie Xo’s Thanksgiving Was “A Little Harder”
Bunnie Xo reflected on her father’s presence, as she wrote in the post, “Thanksgiving was always the time my Dad would come around. We could go all year without speaking” and “No matter what woman he was with, Thanksgiving he would pop up.”
The video featured in Bunnie’s post is the last Thanksgiving she and her father spent together. She acknowledged this fact in the post as she wrote, “I knew in my heart it would be our last one together. Just didn’t realize it would hurt like this today.”
In the comment section of the post, Bunnie Xo concluded the homage to her late father. “It hits a little harder today for some reason, I don’t think I’ve grieved the loss from both my parents” and “Thankful for my widdle family,” Bunnie wrote.
Bunnie’s post is an essential message one needs to hear during this time of year and luckily, she dared to share it with the world.
