Watch Hayley Williams and Cyndi Lauper Perform “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” in Nashville

Girls really do just want to have fun, and these two girls definitely did have some fun on-stage in Nashville earlier this week. Cyndi Lauper kicked off her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour recently, and the trek has been going strong. During one particular stop in Nashville on Friday night, Cyndi Lauper decided to shake things up by bringing pop punk icon Hayley Williams onto the stage for a delightful duet rendition of Lauper’s 1983 hit “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun”. You can watch the performance below via a few fan-recorded videos:

It was a mix of artistry that just seemed to work beautifully. Lauper is an icon in the world of pop and 1980s new wave music. We’ll be sad to see her retire after this farewell tour wraps up. Williams, on the other hand, made a major name for herself in pop punk as the lead singer and founding member of rock band Paramore since 2004.

Cyndi Lauper and Hayley Williams’ Stop in Nashville Was Next-Level

The concert kicked off last Friday at Bridgestone Arena with quite a bang. Both Lauper and Williams hit the stage with matching polka-dot outfits. Williams’ voice was particularly well-suited for the song. She’s always been a master at belting, and her pop punk style suited the song beautifully.

One couldn’t help but notice how entranced Williams was by Lauper on stage, and we don’t blame her. Williams is clearly as much of a fan of Lauper as the members of the audience. Williams is also a big fan of at least one other iconic woman in rock music, too. During a Paramore concert in September, Williams dressed up as Debbie Harry (of Blondie) for an iHeartRadio Music Festival set in Las Vegas.

Cyndi Lauper’s Nashville stop was her latest performance on the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour. Earlier in the week, she performed a few stunning sets in New York City with pop singer Sam Smith, who performed a duet with Lauper for “Time After Time”. After the Nashville show, Lauper will make a number of stops throughout California, Georgia, and Arizona.

The US leg of the Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Tour will wrap up before the year ends. Lauper is set to tour Europe in 2025.
