Over the weekend, Wyatt Flores performed at the Avondale Brewing Company in Birmingham, Alabama. That night, he gave his fans a special treat when he allowed 17-year-old Brody Jackson to open for him in what was the young fan’s first-ever gig. Jackson landed the opening slot after meeting Flores outside the venue just hours before the show.

“My wife and I took our kids to Birmingham to see Wyatt Flores yesterday. We drove up from Florida. We were eating lunch next door to the venue, and as we were leaving we saw Wyatt,” Jackson’s dad told Whiskey Riff about how the surprise gig came to be. “Wyatt was kind enough to take photos with us. My son, Brody told him about his first gig in a couple of weeks. Brody also asked Wyatt to sign his guitar,” he added. Watch Flores introduce Jackson and share his side of the story below.

Wyatt Flores Makes a Fan’s First Show Special
Before Brody Jackson took the stage, Wyatt Flores took a moment to introduce him to the audience. “I was with my manager, coming from a radio interview. We were backing the car in and this guy came out of nowhere. I ended up talking to him and he ended up bringing his guitar and he sang me two songs and he told me that his first show was November 8,” Flores told them. “I said, ‘Well, today seems like a good day for a show. So, we’re going to give him some time up here on this stage. This is his first-ever show. His name’s Brody Jackson. Y’all be kind to him, alright? Treat him well,” he concluded before letting Jackson take center stage.
While it was Jackson’s first show, he sounded like he belonged on the stage opening for Flores. The video above shows a snippet of his cover of Tyler Childers’ “Jersey Giant.”
Later in the evening, Flores called Jackson back to the stage to perform “Please Don’t Go.” Watch a clip of the performance below.
In the video, it’s hard to tell who is more excited, Flores or Jackson. They both look like they’re having the time of their lives.
