Whitesnake hasn’t performed live since 2022, when the band was forced to cut short a European farewell tour after frontman David Coverdale was sidelined with a serious respiratory infection. Coverdale’s lingering health issues also led the group to cancel a North American. The band has been on hiatus ever since.

Now, in a new interview with Spain’s Metal Journal YouTube channel, longtime Whitesnake guitarist Reb Beach was asked about whether he had any information about the band possibly returning to the road. His answer likely will disappoint some of the group’s fans.
“No, I have no news,” Beach told Metal Journal. “David hasn’t told me anything. The last I heard from David about it was he asked me to keep some equipment at his house in case we do something.”
The guitarist, who joined Whitesnake in 2003, continued, “I know he has always talked about doing some shows in [Las] Vegas, just as a farewell in Vegas.”
Beach added, “[J]ust personally, I don’t see David traveling anymore, doing a world tour again and going to different countries. That’s my opinion. He hasn’t said that. It’s just that, you know, he’s 72 years old. He sold all of his publishing. He got a lot of money, and I don’t think he needs to … tour anymore.”
Beach reiterated that if Whitesnake does do any kind of farewell performances, he believes it will be a series of Las Vegas shows.
Whether Whitesnake Is Planning a New Studio Album
Beach also was asked if its possible that Whitesnake will record a new studio album.
“I haven’t heard anything, really,” he reported. “David sends us jokes. We have a Whitesnake thread, and every day he sends a new joke.”
Whitesnake’s most recent studio album is Flesh and Blood, which was released in 2019. In recent years, Coverdale has been overseeing a series of box sets featuring newly mixed and mastered archival recordings. The latest collection, Into the Light: The Solo Albums, will be released this Friday, October 25.
As its title suggests, the new box set focuses on Coverdale’s three solo albums—White Snake (1977), Northwinds (1978), and Into the Light (2000). It also features demos, unfinished tracks, from various periods of his career.
Beach’s Upcoming Plans
Beach recently signed on to fill in for former Whitesnake guitarist Doug Aldrich on the all-star hard-rock group The Dead Daisies’ upcoming European tour. In September, it was announced that Aldrich was diagnosed with treatable throat cancer and needed to undergo an operation. While Aldrich recovers, Beach will temporarily join The Dead Daisies for their fall trek, which kicks off November 1 in Enschede, Netherlands.
Beach also told Metal Journal that Coverdale recently enquired about Aldrich.
“[He] asked me to say hi to Doug and make sure he’s okay and everything,” Reb shared. Aldrich played in Whitesnake from 2003 to 2014.
