Cross Canadian Ragweed Add More Dates to Boys from Oklahoma Reunion in Stillwater

Earlier this month, Cross Canadian Ragweed shocked fans when they announced a reunion show. The Boys from Oklahoma concert was set to be a one-night-only event with Ragweed, Turnpike Troubadours, Jason Boland & the Stragglers, The Great Divide, and Stoney LaRue. However, due to high demand, they’ve announced several more shows.

Initially, Ragweed planned to join forces with other Red Dirt acts from Oklahoma at the Boone Pickens Stadium at Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, Oklahoma on April 12. Then, they added a show on April 11. Now, they’ll also perform on April 10 and April 13. They added the new dates after the first two nights sold out almost instantly and fans were still hoping for tickets.

Cross Canadian Ragweed Fans Sell Out Multiple Shows

According to Rolling Stone, Russel Doussan, president of Doussan Music Group and executives from the Oklahoma State University athletic department assumed the initial Boys from Oklahoma show would sell out the 40,000 tickets available at the Boone Pickens Stadium. However, more than 150,000 people signed up for presales. As a result, they added a second show to the schedule. They both sold out during the presale and more than 200,000 fans were still trying to get tickets. As a result, organizers floated the idea of adding two more dates. The bands agreed.

About the high demand, Doussan said, “I’ve been a part of some major, major projects, and I have never witnessed anything like this before. I was in Stillwater this weekend and for the entire day I could not take two steps without someone either coming up to me or overhearing a conversation about this concert as if it was going to happen next weekend.” He went on to say, “I was part of the Guns N’ Roses reunion tour. I did their stadium show in New Orleans and this is beyond that.”

“I knew people wanted a reunion,” Cross Canadian Ragweed frontman Cody Canada said. “I’ve been hearing it for years. I had no idea it would be this big. I’m so grateful.”

At the time of writing, presale tickets for the shows on April 10 and April 13 are available. However, if the first two shows are any indication, they won’t last long.
