Lucinda Williams has unveiled plans to release a new collection of Beatles cover tunes recorded at the famed Abbey Road Studios in London, where the Fab Four recorded most of their music. The appropriately titled Lucinda Williams Sings The Beatles from Abbey Road features 12 tunes by the legendary band. It’s due out on December 6.

According to a press statement, the album marks the first time an artist besides The Beatles themselves has recorded Fab Four tunes at Abbey Road. Williams was accompanied by her current backing group on the record.
The acclaimed alt-country artist has made available her version of the George Harrison-penned classic “While My Guitar Gently Weeps” as an advance track.
Other classic tunes featured on the album include “Can’t Buy Me Love,” “Let It Be,” “Something,” “With a Little Help from My Friends,” and “The Long and Winding Road.”
Lucinda Williams Sings The Beatles from Abbey Road can be pre-ordered now on CD and as vinyl LP. It also will be available as a digital download and via streaming services.
More About the Lu’s Jukebox Series
Williams began the Lu’s Jukebox series as a way to make support independent music venues during a time when they weren’t able to host live shows.
The first six volumes featured Williams performing themed sets of songs that initially streamed live via HD video. They subsequently were released on CD, on vinyl, and via streaming services. Proceeds raised benefited various designated venues.
Themes of the performances included Tom Petty, The Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan, country classics, and Christmas tunes.
About Williams’ Upcoming Tour Plans
Williams recently wrapped up a short joint tour with Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers guitarist Mike Campbell and his current group, The Dirty Knobs.
Lucinda also has various upcoming performances on her 2024 schedules. They include headlining shows, special multimedia presentations, and tribute and benefit performances scheduled into early December.
Williams and Campbell both are part of the star-studded lineup of the Life Is a Carnival: A Musical Celebration of Robbie Robertson tribute concert, scheduled for October 17 at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, California. Lucinda also will perform at two benefits for singer/songwriter Jesse Malin, which will take place on December 1 and 2 at the Beacon Theatre in New York City. Malin has been recovering from a debilitating spinal stroke that he suffered in May 2023.
