Morgan Wallen’s two-day stint at Neyland Stadium over the weekend had so many guest appearances it almost seemed like a musical festival. Darius Rucker joined Wallen on stage for an epic sing-along to his 2013 classic “Wagon Wheel.” Eric Church, HARDY, ERNEST, Peyton Manning, and numerous members of the Volunteers football team also appeared at some point during Wallen’s two-day stretch at The University of Tennessee’s stadium.

The two shows amassed 156,161 fans, becoming Knoxville’s largest weekend on record for a performance. Wallen overtook The Jackson 5’s three-night total of 148,407 back in 1984.
Not to be outdone, Miranda Lambert‘s duet with Wallen was undoubtedly a highlight of the night.
Lambert came out with Wallen on the second night of his double-header show to perform his No. 1 hit “Though You Should Know.” The duet was a refreshing dose of simplicity amidst the grandiose performances of his other hit songs. That being so, all the performance entailed was Lambert and Wallen serenading the crowd with the powerful lyrics of “Though You Should Know.”
The Performance
Unlike the rest of the epic performances Wallen gave during his stadium double-header, this duet sat in stark juxtaposition due to multiple elements. First off, Lambert and Wallen performed the song on a smaller section of the stage in hopes of imitating an intimate setting in the middle of a sea of fans.
Furthermore, when Lambert took hold of the second verse the crowd not only erupted but also reveled in the fresh sound she provided the song. In all, the live collaboration came as a sentimental break in the non-stop party and offered fans a rest from the boot-stomping tunes Wallen is known for playing.
Morgan Wallen Introduces Miranada Lambert
The inclusion of Lambert came as a bit of a surprise, as Wallen and Lambert’s relationship has not consistently appeared in the media. Regardless, the two share a chemistry and it’s reportedly thanks to their songwriting collaboration on “Though You Should Know.”
When introducing her, Wallen stated, “Me and this next artist, we got together one day and wrote a few songs, and this is the first song we ever wrote” and “I brought this song into the room and I needed some help from a lady’s perspective to help me write a song for my mama.”
Both the songwriting and live collaboration added an unexpected level to Wallen’s musical repertoire that fans didn’t know he had. Hopefully, Morgan Wallen and Miranda Lambert will make another public appearance sometime in the near future.
