We all know Snoop Dogg was the undisputed MVP of the 2024 Summer Olympics. The legendary rapper kicked off the Paris Games by carrying the highly-coveted Olympic Torch. In four years, the Olympics will return to the United States for the 2028 Summer Games in Los Angeles. And founding Public Enemy member Flavor Flav is looking for his turn in the torchlight.

Flavor Flav Gives “Mad Big Ups” To Snoop Dogg
Flavor Flav wasted no time tossing his hat into the ring for the 2028 Summer Olympics torchbearer. During a recent episode of iHeart’s Politickin podcast, the “Fight the Power” rapper revealed he has already submitted the necessary paperwork.
“I said, ‘If Snoop can carry the torch in Paris — come on, man — Flav can carry that bad boy in L.A.,’” Flav told hosts California Gov. Gavin Newsom, former NFL star Marshawn Lynch and agent Doug Hendrickson on Wednesday’s (Aug. 28) episode.
Snoop Dogg set a new Olympic standard in Paris, and Flavor Flav is prepared to meet it. “He rocked,” said the Long Island native, 65. “Even though they did pay him a half-a-million a day, Snoop got a nice payday out there, besides the payday, he did a good job and I know that man had a lot of f—ing fun out there. Mad big ups to you, Snoop.”

Flav Is “A Credit to America,” Social Media Saya
A global audience embraced Snoop as the face of the 2024 Olympics. Many social media users indicated they were prepared to do the same for Flavor Flav.
“He’s done so much to promote Olympic athletes and sports, investing his own money, time and effort,” one fan wrote on X/Twitter. “He’s been a credit to America and deserves it!”
Flav (real name: William Drayton Jr.) served as the official hype man for the U.S women’s water polo team in Paris. However, his contributions went beyond moral support. In May, athlete Maggie Steffens made an Instagram post outlining the financial barriers that she and her teammates overcame to make their Olympic dreams a reality.
In a comment on the post, Flav declared, “imma sponsor the whole team.” That’s exactly what he did.
“@FlavorFlav needs to find a winter sport to love,” another X/Twitter user wrote. “Because all Olympics need him!”
