Gavin DeGraw scored a massive hit in 2004 with the single “I Don’t Want to Be,” off his debut album Chariot. The song’s popularity spiked after it was featured as the opening theme to the CW series One Tree Hill. Twenty years later, DeGraw is still going strong, currently touring with Colbie Caillat. Unfortunately, the “In Love With a Girl” singer had to cancel his Aug. 3 appearance at the Festival at Sandpoint due to a throat infection. Four days later, DeGraw reluctantly announced he was pulling out of all remaining August tour dates.

Gavin DeGraw Is Still On Vocal Rest
In an Aug. 7 Instagram post, Gavin DeGraw told fans that although he is “on the mend currently, his doctor had ordered him to stay on vocal rest for another week.
“Unfortunately, I’m not healthy enough yet to go back to work,” said the GRAMMY nominee, 47. “The doctor told me to take another week off, which really sucks. I’m really bummed about it.
“As you know, touring with Colbie is one of my favorite things to do,” he continued. “We were really looking forward to doing these dates together.”
Caillat performed solo in Saratoga, California on Aug. 8, and again in Rohnert Park, California the next day. The duo canceled their Aug. 10 show in Pala, California, altogether.
“For the Pala folks, I’m sorry for the inconvenience but we are cancelling this show,” DeGraw wrote on Instagram. “Refunds are available at the original point of purchase.”
Fans showed support for the “Chariot” singer in the comments. “I will miss not getting to see you but your health is #1,” one Instagram user wrote. “Such a thoughtful post. Now go rest up!!”

‘Chariot 20’ Is Coming Next Month
Two decades later, Gavin DeGraw is revisiting the album that put him on the map. The pop-rock artist will release Chariot 20 on Sept. 27.
The reimagined record includes two previously unreleased tracks from the original Chariot sessions: “Get Lost” and “Love Is Stronger (Alright.)”
On Aug. 9, the multi-platinum singer-songwriter released an updated version of the track “Meaning.”
“This song was one of the main reasons why I chose to re-imagine the record,” DeGraw said. “I believe that this song is a great reminder how important love continues to be.”
