Post Malone’s Performance of “Carrying Your Love With Me” Has Fans Hungry for a George Strait Duet

The wait is finally over. For months, Post Malone teased fans about his entrance into country music. With the singer releasing snippets here and there, fans anxiously awaited his debut country album, F-1 Trillion. And on Friday, the album was finally released with fans praising Malone. Although marking Malone’s entrance into country music, the singer showed a love for the genre numerous times throughout his career. Looking at some of his recent performances, Malone took the stage to not plug his new album, but to cover George Strait’s “Carrying Your Love With Me.”

Covering another singer’s song can be a daunting task. But covering a Strait song might be downright impossible. Holding the spotlight since the 1970s, Strait sold over 120 million albums and produced iconic songs like “Write This Down”, “I Cross My Heart”, and “Amarillo by Morning.” But wanting to honor the rich legacy of Strait, Malone took the stage and proved himself to be a talented singer in more genres than just hip-hop.

Malone’s cover had fans in the comments hungry for a future collaboration between the versatile hitmaker and the King of Country, Strait.

“Post Malone and George Strait would be insane,” one commenter wrote. “I need this song now!! One of my favorite George Strait songs ever!” another fan noted. “I need the whole song, as well as any other George Strait,” another demanded.

Morgan Wallen Discusses Working Late With Post Malone

While fans in attendance loved the cover, others shared their love for Malone online. “Man, I tell you no matter what Post Malone touches – it’s classic gold. I can’t wait for his country album to drop.” Another fan added, “Post is out here just slaying every country song he attempts to sing. There is nothing this man can’t sing. He is a legend in the making.”

Although F-1 Trillion comes packed with over a dozen songs, none of them included a collaboration with Strait. But Malone did get the chance to work with stars like Blake Shelton, Morgan Wallen, Jelly Roll, Lainey Wilson, Tim McGraw, and even Chris Stapleton.

Outside of gaining praise from fans, Malone also received love from fellow musicians like Wallen. While he enjoyed their work together, Wallen joked about the Malone’s working hours. “[He] likes to write really, really late at night — and I can’t do that three nights in a row. I can do that one night,” he says with a laugh. “I can start about 5 p.m., but starting at 10 p.m. — that’s rough.”

Able to power through the late hours, Wallen and Malone shined in their new song “I Had Some Help.”
