Wanting to honor the rich legacy of the country music group Alabama, CMT Giants decided there was no better place to host such an event than in Nashville. With Nashville sacred ground to country music, singers like Blake Shelton, Brad Paisley, Riley Green, and numerous others traveled to be part of the memorable evening. Even celebrities like Lionel Richie, Evander Holyfield, and Vince Gill took a moment to pay their respect to the group. Throughout the celebration, clips, interviews, and special performances showcased the rich history that accompanied Alabama throughout the decades. And while airing on August 15, those who missed the event still have a chance to see it.

Having produced more than 20 studio albums over six decades, there were more than enough classic songs to pick from when wanting to pay tribute to Alabama. And while a hard decision to make, the tribute featured performances like Shelton covering “Old Flame”, or Aldean singing “Love In the First Degree.” Picking a favorite from the lineup, Green decided to tackle “Dixieland Delight”, which held a special place in his heart.
