According to the report, a warrant was out for a man with the same name, Clifford Harris, who was accused of stalking and violent behavior against a woman in Baltimore. TMZ reports that the Clifford Harris with a warrant out for his arrest is a notably larger man than T.I., however, T.I. was still arrested due to their identical names. WSBTV reported that T.I. flew in from Los Angeles.
Steve Sadow, T.I.’s attorney, confirmed to TMZ that T.I. had been mistaken for another man with the same name. He was released from jail within two hours, and the extradition hearing was dismissed by a judge. T.I. would have been taken to Maryland if the incident had gone further, as that is where the warrant was issued. However, T.I.’s identity was proven and the arrest was dismissed.
T.I. has not yet commented on the incident.
