Morgan Wallen had fans buzzing when the country star took the stage 45 minutes late for his Friday (Aug. 2) show at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri. However, this particular delay was truly out of the “Wasted on You” singer’s hands. Now, a 23-year-old Illinois man who attended the concert is facing a Class E felony after allegedly threatening to shoot two of the Kansas City Chiefs’ biggest stars.

Morgan Wallen Concert Attendee Is Apparently a Vikings Fan
Police charged Aaron Brown III, of Illinois, with making a terroristic threat after he reportedly threatened to shoot Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce in a social media post. The threat was posted to X/Twitter under the user name @gooeybag, which appears to have since been shut down.
According to court records, the alleged threat read: “Mr. [REDACTED] at Arrowhead with the wife. If he brings out or I’ll take the f—in shot. F— em! Also f— you b—-!! (hand emoji with middle finger up twice) @REDACTED”
Seeing how both Kelce and Mahomes appeared onstage with Morgan Wallen that night, police delayed the concert for about 40 minutes while they tracked down Brown’s cell phone number. Brown answered the detective’s call, volunteering that he was sitting in section 123.
Brown’s girlfriend told police that the 23-year-old and his fraternity brothers often created fake, or burner, Twitter accounts and “tweet stupid stuff.” Brown, a “huge” Minnesota Vikings fan with no prior criminal history,” posted the alleged threat on their drive from Lake of the Ozarks to Kansas City.
In his own interview with police, Brown called the threat “a stupid, stupid, stupid mistake.” Now, thanks to his own self-professed, “stupidity and arrogance,” the Vikings fan could face up to four years in prison.
Social Media Reacts
Social media users praised authorities’ swift reactions and expressed gratitude that Travis Kelce, Patrick Mahomes and Morgan Wallen were unharmed. “Good put that clown away,” wrote one /Twitter user.
Some weren’t buying Brown’s remorse. “a stupid, stupid, stupid mistake is leaving your wallet at home,” one user posted on X/Twitter. “This is an intentional criminal threat and I hope he gets serious time.”
