Billie Eilish Gains Support From Finneas After Fans Label Her “Guess” Verse “Predatory”

In less than a decade, Billie Eilish proved herself to be a top singer and songwriter in the music industry. Looking at her career, her talents helped her gain numerous awards, including two Academy Awards. With songs like “My Futue”, Therefore I Am” and “What Was I Made For?”, the singer holds a sizable fanbase. But recently, the singer found herself dealing with some backlash after a person suggested that her lyrics in Charli XCX’s “Guess” are “predatory.”

Originally released on Charli’s album Brat, the song featured lyrics surrounding how fans want to know the color of her underwear. Bringing in Eilish for a new version of the song, Elish sings, “I wanna try it, bite it, lick it, spit it / Pull it to the side and get all up in it / Kiss it, bite it, can I fit it? / Charli likes boys, but she knows I’d hit it / (Knows I’d hit it) / Charli, call me if you’re with it.”

While some fans loved the new version, one person found an issue with the lyrics, claiming, “Billie’s verse on ‘Guess’ is high-key predatory, but y’all blinded by her usual queerbaiting for commercial gain. Ever since the ‘Lost Cause’ controversy, she’s been reducing girls to mere objects, all in an effort to convince the masses that she’s actually into them lol. Charli is 32 and engaged FYI.”

Finneas Defends Billie Eilish From “Queerbaiting”

Although Eilish remained silent about her lyrics and the backlash, her brother Finneas wasn’t having the attacks on his younger sister. He said, “What a take, you little clown. I got to watch the entire internet slam my sister for queerbaiting for an entire year when, in reality, you were all forcing her to label and out herself.” While sharing his thoughts, the comment from Finnease was eventually deleted.

With some taking issue with Eilish’s lyrics, the music video continues to gain views. Only released two days ago, the music video has nearly six million views. And looking at the comments, fans loved the collaboration. “Charli is just THAT girl! Brat is a movement first Lorde now Billie… we’re witnessing pop culture history.”
