Megan Moroney On Love: “I Don’t Really Have Time For a Relationship”

Megan Moroney put out her sophomore album, Am I Okay? on July 19, with fans flocking to it with fervor. Moroney co-wrote the album with writers like Jessie Jo Dillon, Mackenzie Carpenter, and Shane McAnally, exploring toxic relationships, nostalgic love, and personal tragedy. However, even thought the album deals with love in a lot of different forms, Moroney has opened up about the lack of romantic love in her own life.

Speaking with Fox News Digital, she admitted that she’s so focused on her career that she hasn’t had time to pursue a relationship. “I think I’ve never been more dialed in with my career than I am now,” she said.

She continued, “I really don’t have time for a relationship, and I think it’s reflected in my album. There’s two love songs that are maybe kind of hopeful, and then it ends real quick, and that is an accurate representation of how my love life recently went. So, yeah, I’m focused on the music and my career, and that’s kind of all about all I have time for right now.”

Megan Moroney Considers Herself “Not Emotionally Available” and In the Wrong Headspace for a Relationship

The lack of romance in Megan Moroney’s life is due to an equal lack of emotional availability, she said. “I think because I’m not emotionally available, like, I am not ready to find someone that I want to marry right now, because that’s just not in even the top ten things in my brain right now,” she said.

“So it’s just like, let’s not waste anyone’s time,” Moroney added. “Let’s just not date right now because there’s that point.”

Megan Moroney seems to be too busy to date anyway, as she’s been along for Kenny Chesney’s Sun Goes Down Tour this year. She’s been opening for his shows all over North America as well as joining him on stage for duets of some of his classic songs. Recently, she performed “She Thinks My Tractor’s Sexy” alongside Chesney, injecting the 1999 hit with her infectious energy. She also took Grace Potter’s verses from “You and Tequila” before that, to the delight of fans.
