Olivia Rodrigo Goes Country as She Shocks Kentucky Crowd With Special Tyler Childers Duet

For many artists, breaking into the music industry can be one of the most challenging parts of their career. Not to mention producing music, helming tours, and even trying to make history. Although many singers hope to win a Grammy Award, some spend their entire careers chasing that dream. But for Olivia Rodrigo, she passed that milestone when she released her debut album, Sour. With the singer only releasing two studio albums throughout her time on stage, Rodrigo not only gained a sizable fanbase but she offered them a special treat when performing in Kentucky.

Olivia Rodrigo Discusses What She Learned From Writing ‘Guts’

Currently helming her Guts World Tour, Rodrigo discussed what she learned about writing when creating the Guts album. She told Variety, “The experience tested my confidence and patience. It taught me some important lessons about songwriting in terms of focusing on your craft rather than just waiting for inspiration to strike.” Rodrigo continued, “It taught me about the mindset that is most conducive to writing: You can never sit down at the piano and try to write something that everyone will like; that always results in a really bad song. It taught me that I write songs that I want to hear.”

Knowing the importance of practicing singing, writing, and performing, Rodrigo revealed she feels most like herself when channeling her inner thoughts. “These days, I try to write one song every day. I just feel like myself when I’m writing. If I don’t do it, I get depressed. I’m just writing songs to process what’s going on, whether in my personal life or in my perception of the world.”

Finding a faithful following and continuing to produce music, it seems the sky is the limit as Rodrigo expands her stardom.
