Lainey Wilson is one of the hardest-working artists in country music. She has put blood, sweat, and tears into building her career for over a decade. As a result, she’s learned to roll with the punches and not take herself too seriously. At the same time, she’s the kind of person who learns from her mistakes. After a recent wardrobe malfunction during her set at the Faster Horses festival, she added a new step to her pre-show routine to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Yesterday (July 21), Wilson took to social media to share a video of her new pre-show wardrobe check. In the video, the reigning CMA and ACM Entertainer of the Year dances to her single “Hang Tight Honey.” The dance includes several squats to test the integrity of her pants. “Adding this into my routine before a show so my britches don’t rip the way they did last night at Faster Horses,” she wrote.
While it’s a smart move, Wilson’s attitude in the video shows that she’s not too worried about what happened during her Faster Horses set. She’s all smiles and seems to be having a ball in the clip. After all, few fans knew what happened when she had to run off of the stage for an emergency costume change during the festival.
Lainey Wilson Learned from Dolly Parton and Reba McEntire
As Lainey Wilson’s star began to rise after the release of Bell Bottom Country, she started going viral. However, the widespread internet popularity didn’t involve her music. Instead, videos and photos of her butt filling out her trademark skin-tight bell-bottom jeans were flooding the internet.
She reflected on this widespread objectification during a recent documentary special about her life and career. “First of all, I was like how did y’all just notice I had a big ol’ butt? It’s been back there the whole time,” she joked, looking back on the plethora of posts about her posterior.
“I went back to how would Dolly handle this situation, how would Reba deal with this situation? They’d laugh it and move one,” she recalled. “It’s just part of it.”
