On Saturday, thousands of country music lovers traveled to the Michigan International Speedway for the Faster Horses Festival. With the festival a hotbed for country music fans, those in attendance received a power-charged performance from Wilson. The only problem, her power led to her splitting her pants. Thankfully, the singer reacted quickly enough that not many fans knew what happened.

Not afraid to speak her mind, Wilson disappeared backstage to fix the issue but kept the mic in her hand. While not able to see her, the country star explained to the crowd, “Y’all just about got a real show!” It didn’t take long before Wilson returned to the stage, entertaining fans with songs like “Smells Like Smoke” and “Hang Tight Honey.”

Lainey Wilson Reveals One Singer She Hopes To Follow

Earlier in the month, Wilson sat down to discuss her rise to fame and some of her inspirations along the way. Speaking with Today, the singer was asked which star she would like to follow in music. Wilson revealed, “I feel like I like to pull, like, bits and pieces from a little bit of all of my heroes, but I’ve gotten to spend some time with Dolly Parton and, you know, everybody says, ‘Don’t meet your heroes.’ But that does not count for Dolly Parton. I mean, she truly is even better once you get to know her, and she’s just got a heart of gold.”

To make stardom in country music even better, Wilson caught the eye of Taylor Swift, who admitted to being a fan. Shocked, Wilson said, “It is really cool that Taylor Swift is a fan of me. I’ve always been a fan of hers. I saw her at CMA Fest when I was, like, 14, I think she was 16 years old. She was playing on the Riverfront Stage. And I actually got an opportunity to tell her, I said, ‘I was at your show!’ And she said, ‘There was, like, 10 people there.’ And I said, ‘Well, me and my family, we were a part of the 10!’”

Although on top of country music, Wilson looks to continue her career in music, hopefully gaining the legendary status of those like Dolly Parton.
