The WNBA, one of the fastest-growing sports leagues in America, just held its annual All-Star game and one of the starters in that contest was Indiana Fever point guard Caitlin Clark. The University of Iowa graduate, who notched 10 assists in the recent exhibition game, rose to fame for breaking several NCAA scoring records, including the most 30-point games by any man or woman in Division I in the past 25 seasons.

But it’s Clark’s ties to some of the world’s most renowned record producers that has made her a celebrity in the country music world of late. Indeed, Clark has connections to three of the genre’s biggest names. Let’s explore.
Luke Combs
The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft, Clark is a self-described huge Luke Combs fan. And the feeling is mutual. After Clark was selected in the draft, the “Fast Car” singer sent a shout-out to Clark, saying, “I just wanted to say congratulations on being the No. 1 pick in the WNBA draft. That’s incredible. I know I can speak for everybody all across the United States and the world, probably, that we’ve enjoyed watching you these last couple years, and we can’t wait to continue to do so. So congratulations. You earned it. Can’t wait to see you out there.”
Responding to the message, Clark said, “Luke Combs! That’s my favorite artist of all time. That’s pretty cool. He’s a big women’s basketball fan, so I appreciate him. That’s amazing. I was not expecting that!”
Game recognize game!
Tim McGraw
Performing in March at the Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines, Iowa, country star Tim McGraw came out wearing a Clark University of Iowa No. 22 jersey to applauding fans. A month later, performing at Gainbridge Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, he came out in a No. 22 Indiana Fever jersey. The fella is consistent, that’s for sure!
Not only that, but McGraw tweeted after Clark broke the all-time NCAA scoring record, “Congrats to Caitlin!!! What a fantastic accomplishment…I have to say, as a #girldad, I admit I shed a tear or 2 watching! Fantastic!”
Later, he also wrote, “From the NCAA to the WNBA… with a pit stop on SNL in between!! Couldn’t be a bigger fan. Congrats @CaitlinClark22! The @IndianaFever are lucky to have you on the team. #girlpower #WNBADraft“
Zach Bryan
Also in April, country star Zach Bryan shouted out Caitlin Clark while performing in Des Moines at the Wells Fargo Arena, even dedicating a song to her. “This one’s for Caitlin Clark,” he said, before playing the tune “Revival.”
