Ingrid Andress grew up in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. However, her father was a coach for the Colorado Rockies. As a result, the family traveled often, offering a young Andress to see much of the United States. She landed a record deal with Warner Nashville/Atlantic Records in 2018 and released her debut single “More Hearts Than Mine” the next year.

Since making her debut, the singer/songwriter has released two full-length albums, received Grammy nominations, and written songs for several other artists. Additionally, she has turned in several stunning live performances of her songs in the few short years she has been on the scene. Today, we’re going to look back at three of the best.
“Feel Like This” from Andress’ NPR Tiny Desk Concert
Ingrid Andress wrote “Feel Like This” with Julia Michaels and Sam Ellis. She released it in February 2023 as the third single from her 2022 sophomore album Good Person. She didn’t see any real chart success with the song. However, her performance of the track during her NPR Tiny Desk Concert proves that chart success doesn’t always equal quality.
“This next song is about leaving a toxic relationship and finding a healthy one. It can happen to anybody,” she said, introducing the track. “I wrote this song because I found a healthy relationship… I wrote this song with Julia Michaels. We were both falling in love at the time,” she added.
“More Hearts Than Mine” Ingrid Andress Vevo Live Performance
Andress co-wrote “More Hearts Than Mine” with Sam Ellis and Darrick Southerland and released it as the lead single from her 2020 debut album Lady Like. The track landed at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart, No. 3 on the Country Airplay chart, and No. 30 on the all-genre Hot 100 chart, proving the Colorado native’s crossover appeal.
In 2020, she performed “More Hearts Than Mine” for Vevo. The video below shows her playing the song solo with a keyboard. With all of the song’s production stripped away, listeners can clearly hear Andress’ golden voice.
“You Oughta Know” Ingrid Andress at the 2023 CMT Music Awards
Ingrid Andress is already an accomplished singer/songwriter, just a few years into her career. However, she proved that she could also be a team player while covering another artist’s songs at the 2023 CMT Music Awards. That night, Andress, Lainey Wilson, Morgan Wade, and Madeline Edwards joined Alanis Morissette for a powerful rendition of her ‘90s classic “You Oughta Know.”
“I’ve always looked up to Alanis for the way she’s masterfully navigated a male-dominated industry by always speaking her mind and never sacrificing her own sound or vision,” Andress said in a statement at the time. “We all had so much fun performing this song together,” she added.
