Younger Brother of Beloved ‘The Voice’ Contestant Earns a Golden Buzzer on ‘America’s Got Talent’

Ryley Tate Wilson took the stage during The Voice Blind Auditions in 2023 when he was 15, singing “Dancing On My Own” by Robyn and earning a coveted four-chair turn. He was a favorite that season, receiving a Playoff Pass and advancing to the Semi-Finals. Now, his little brother, Reid, seems to be on the same track, only this time on America’s Got Talent.

Reid nervously entered the AGT stage on Tuesday’s episode but despite his nerves, the 14-year-old blew the judges away with his rendition of Lesley Gore’s “You Don’t Own Me.” He earned Howie Mandel’s second Golden Buzzer, which will send him straight to the live episodes.

“I was bowled over because I was surprised,” Mandel said following Reid’s performance. “I put myself in your position, and you were very nervous… And you know what? That stage is where things come true.”

As for Ryley on The Voice, he shared that he’s mostly different from his four siblings and sometimes feels like he doesn’t fit in. “They all like to do sports,” he said at the time, “and I’m more on the arts side of things. I can definitely feel distance sometimes when they’re doing their things and I’m doing mine.”

However, he clarified, “My siblings are definitely very supportive. With a lot of my performances I’ve done they are in the audience cheering me on and I really appreciate them for that.”

Brothers Take Singing Competitions By Storm, Wowing on The Voice and America’s Got Talent

Not all of Ryley’s siblings seem solely focused on sports, though, not now that we’ve seen Reid thoroughly surprise the America’s Got Talent judges. He earned himself a standing ovation from the four judges and the audience in addition to the Golden Buzzer.

Since 2023, Ryley started running his 14-year-old brother’s Instagram account. There, fans can find the brothers collaborating on songs, as well as candid performances from Reid. For example, Ryley posted a video of Reid singing Kesha’s “Praying,” captioning it “POV: your little brother is secretly an amazing singer.”

Before he was on America’s Got Talent, though, Reid went viral on social media for his singing last year. Jennifer Hudson brought the brothers on her daytime talk show to showcase their talents, with Ryley accompanying Reid on piano.
