The New York City-born rapper, fashion model, and businesswoman Cardi B doesn’t care what you think. She is confident in herself and knows how to deal with the ever-present hater perhaps better than anyone out there. She sloughs them off, like a duck in water. Don’t dig her stuff? That’s fine, keep moving. Love her? Well, then, she loves you right back.

For fans of the artist, they know this swagger and attitude well. For those new to her sensibilities, though, it might be a bit off-putting. But no matter what one feels about Cardi’s demeanor, the rapper with the sharp tongue assuredly has some classic songs already. Here below, we wanted to explore three them. A trio of songs for people who say they don’t like Cardi B.

“Bodak Yellow” from Invasion of Privacy (2018)
The major label debut single from Cardi B, this track made her a star. But even more than that, it was a single line within the song that put her on the map: I don’t dance now, I make money moves. The former strip club dancer had the last laugh as she’s now worth millions of dollars, but it all began with this song, which made her only the second female solo rapper (Lauryn Hill was the first) to hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. On the track, she raps,
I ain’t worried ’bout her, that’s an old ho
You thought I was comin’ with my old flow
Kodak ain’t com to take no photo
I don’t even pull up in a four door
I just hit a lick, hit the load though
All my life smokin’ on JoJo
He was just posted up with dough though
Now he gettin’ slammed by the popo
“Up” (Single, 2021)
A standalone single released in 2021, this song is one of Cardi’s catchiest. The track, which also hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, made her the sole female rapper to get the top spot on the charts with multiple solo singles after the success of “Bodak Yellow.” This track is relentless. It’s a machine gun of words that doesn’t stop and showcases why Cardi has one of the best flows in hip-hop today. On it, she raps,
Once upon a time, man, I heard that I was ugly
Came from a b—h who n—a wanna f–k on me
I said my face bomb, a– tight
Racks stack up Shaq height
Jewelry on me, flashlight
I been lit since last night
Hit him with that good-good
Make a n—a act right
“WAP” feat. Megan Thee Stallion from WAP (2020)
Perhaps the most sexual song of all-time. But that’s what you get when you listen to the music of Cardi B—unabashed, uncensored statements about whatever she wants to rap about and about what will raise eyebrows and gather attention. The song, which features another bodacious and bold rapper in Megan Thee Stallion, also hit the No. 1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 upon its release. Originally, it was going to be released as a solo track from Cardi but when she decided to put Megan on the track, she doubled its power. While the song and video are NSFW, on the track, Cardi raps,
Tie me up like I’m surprised
Let’s role-play, I wear a disguise
I want you to park that big Mack truck right in this little garage
Make it cream, make me scream
Out in public, make a scene
I don’t cook, I don’t clean
But let me tell you, I got this ring
