Queens of the Stone Age are currently on their The End Is Nero Tour in Europe. However, they’ve had to cancel or postpone several dates due to frontman Josh Homme’s health. In a recent post the band announced Homme’s need to return to the United States for an emergency surgery. The change impacts nine tour stops.

The band took to social media to share a graphic detailing the abrupt schedule change alongside an apologetic caption. “Queens are gutted we aren’t able to play for you,” the band wrote. “We apologize for any inconvenience and share in your frustration and disappointment,” they added.

“QOTSA regret to announce that Josh Homme must return to the United States immediately for emergency surgery,” the graphic stated. At this time, the band has not shared information surrounding Homme’s health or what kind of surgery he will undergo. However, he announced that he had received a cancer diagnosis in 2022 and underwent surgery to remove it.
“Every effort was made to push through and play for you, but it is no long an option to continue,” the message continued.

The nine impacted tour stops are a combination of festival and headlining dates. See the list of canceled shows below.

The band urged ticketholders for festivals to “visit the specific festival website for updated information.” Additionally, they added, “Ticketholders for headline shows will be contacted directly from the point of purchase with further information.”
Queens of the Stone Age will continue their tour on August 24 in Gothenburg, Sweden.
QOTSA to Take a Break After Tour
Queens of the Stone Age are looking to take a break after The End Is Nero Tour. In a recent interview, Queens guitarist Troy Van Leeuwen spoke about the band’s plans. When asked about what the band would do after the tour, he said, “Sleep! I think we’re going to take a little break.” He went on to say, “I know we have some plans for next year that are loosely being talked about. …but we’re also in the middle of this really long summer tour, and that’s what we want to make sure that we’re still excited about.”
