On Monday (October 2), the lineup for New Year’s Eve Live: Nashville’s Big Bash was announced and it’s filled with plenty of country music. The celebration sees Lynyrd Skynyrd and country stars Lainey Wilson and Thomas Rhett helping to ring in 2024. They’ll all take the main stage at Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. More artists are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

The five-hour show airs live on December 31 at 7:30 p.m. ET on CBS and streaming on Paramount+. The show will culminate with a music note that drops at midnight to ring in the new year.

“Building on what we have established over the last two years by focusing on our artists, the fans and the vibrancy of downtown Nashville, this year’s lineup is shaping up to be our most exciting yet,” Executive Producer Robert Deaton said in a press release. “We will celebrate 50 years of the iconic Southern rock band Lynyrd Skynyrd, the skyrocketing Lainey Wilson and country music superstar Thomas Rhett with over a dozen artists and special guests still to be announced.”

The news comes soon after Wilson’s trio of wins at the inaugural 2023 People’s Choice Country Awards where she was named Female Artist of 2023, Music Video of 2023 with HARDY for their hit collaboration, “Wait in the Truck,” and Collaboration Song of 2023 for “Save Me” with Jelly Roll. Rhett recently dropped his new single, “Mamaw’s House,” featuring Morgan Wallen from his compilation album, 20 Number Ones.

Former Lynyrd Skynyrd drummer Artimus Pyle is releasing a new album, Anthems, Honoring the Music of Lynyrd Skynyrd, in 2024 that finds him performing songs he recorded during his time with Lynyrd Skynyrd including hits “Sweet Home Alabama” and “Freebird.” Dolly Parton, Billy Ray Cyrus and Sammy Hagar are among his collaborators on the project due out on February 24.
