Drake Co-Signs Rising Artist Teezo Touchdown: “Some of the Best Music Ever”

For his third consecutive show in Inglewood, California, during the It’s All a Blur Tour, Drake entered the building alongside Teezo Touchdown last night (August 15). A native of Beaumont, Texas, just outside of Houston, Teezo has been continuously racking up co-signs from notable mainstream rappers, and Drake is now the latest.

Hours before he accompanied Drake on his walk to the stage Tuesday, Teezo was able to play his upcoming debut album how do you sleep at night? for the Toronto icon. After listening to it, Drake took to Instagram to praise the LP, calling it “some of the best music ever.”

“Usually it’s a cutthroat cryptic caption for the ones that turned on the gang members but tonight I just heard some of the best music ever so I am happy and I will spare you little birdies thanks to @teezotouchdown,” he wrote in an Instagram post.

Slated to release on September 8, how do you sleep at night? will be the culmination of over half a decade’s worth of work for Teezo, as he has primarily been releasing singles as of late. With viral hits like “Technically” and “Mid” in 2021, as well as “Familiarity” and “Rock Paper Strippers” this year, Teezo’s blend of hip-hop, pop, punk rock, and more has helped him establish an eager fanbase anticipating an impending breakthrough.

In June 2021, Teezo first sniffed stardom with his guest appearance on Tyler, The Creator’s “RUNITUP,” the eighth song on his Grammy award-winning album Call ME If You Get Lost. Next, earlier this year in February, Teezo collided with the syrupy-voiced Houston crooner Don Toliver for “Luckily I’m Having,” which landed on the deluxe version of Toliver’s latest LP Love Sick. Most recently, Teezo brought his eclectic energy to Travis Scott’s blockbuster project UTOPIA, delivering stunning refrains and verses on the third song “MODERN JAM.”

So, now with Scott, Tyler, Drake, and more on his bandwagon, it’s hard to imagine anything but acclaim for Teezo when his album arrives next month, which will be his first full-length effort uploaded to digital streaming platforms.
