For the past couple of months, Travis Scott has revved up the rollout for his long-awaited fourth studio album Utopia. Now, after playing the album for famous athletes, announcing that it is in the mastering stages, and wielding his mysterious “Utopia” briefcase everywhere, it appears that we may finally be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

On Tuesday (July 27), Los Angeles natives began to notice a few billboards around the city in promotion of the LP. First, two of the billboards above a liquor store and a chateau were seen which not only had the website FINDUTOPIA.COM printed on them, but also showed a picture of a watch set to the time 7:21.
This particular number led fans to believe that July 21 could be the album’s release date, considering July is the seventh month of the year. Then, another billboard showed the keypad for Scott’s aforementioned “Utopia” briefcase which also displayed the numbers 7 and 21 in their alleged combination. It is starting to become clear that Scott could be revealing Utopia‘s arrival date.
In recent weeks, Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, and Utopia‘s mixing engineer Mike Dean have all been in possession of the briefcase, which likely means they are involved in the album’s creation in some capacity. In Bad Bunny’s case, he confirmed in an interview last week that he and Scott do, in fact, have a joint song on the way. It is not clear if this song will land on Utopia, though.
Scott’s highly-anticipated project will release during a year when hip-hop is still looking for its first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200. While recent LPs from Gunna and Young Thug will come close, Scott could be in a position to break the slump. However, with other full-length efforts on the way from Lil Uzi Vert and Drake, Scott will have to compete on the charts with these rap titans, especially if the July release date is indeed true.
