Orville Peck has announced the postponement of his Bronco Tour just a day after his performance at New York City’s The Theater at Madison Square Garden.

The 35-year-old Canadian-based country musician shared the news on his Instagram. “I am completely heartbroken as I share this news, but I have made the incredibly difficult decision to postpone all of my upcoming shows effective immediately,” he wrote. “My current mental and physical health won’t allow me to bring you my best.”

The news evidently comes as a surprise to fans for many reasons, including the fact that the tour just started. Peck’s sold-out show on June 20 was the first stop on his 25-date North American tour, set to take place both in Canada and the U.S.

Peck goes on to add that his “fans mean the absolute world to me” and that he’s “so incredibly thankful to every single person who has bought a ticket to come and see us play.” That being said, the artist does “not take it for granted,” given “that being on stage is my favorite thing in the world,” he stated.

Despite this sentiment, Peck finishes his statement by adding that he is working on his mind and body. “I have to take this time to replenish my mind and my body so that I can come back stronger and healthier than before, in order to do what I love for many years to come,” Peck said. “I truly hope you can understand.”

Many fellow artists do understand, as Sierra Ferrell, Dylan Mulvaney, and Noah Cyrus stand in solidarity with Peck’s decision through their kind comments on the musician’s post. Ferrell commented, “Get some rest. I understand. Xoxox,” while Mulvaney wrote, “We love you no matter what !!!.” Lastly, Cyrus said, “I love you beyond this world.”

There is no fixed date as to when the Bronco Tour will resume, though Peck alludes to the fact that it won’t be in the far so distant future, concluding his post with, “See you soon and sending all my love.”
