We here at American Songwriter think that songs are the oxygen for your spiritual lungs.
To that end, we wanted to share 17 new works of music to brighten your day and share the good word of composition. So, with that in mind, here are 17 songs for you today.
1. Norah Jones
On June 2, Norah Jones will release an expanded 31-track version of her 10-year-old LP, Little Broken Hearts. The new collection, Little Broken Hearts (Deluxe Edition), features music from Jones and the iconic producer Danger Mouse. Jones has shared a new bop of a song from the collection, “Out on the Road (Mondo Version).”
2. Jack Harlow
The acclaimed rapper recently released his newest album, Jackman. To celebrate, the lyricist released his new music video for the catchy single, “They Don’t Love It.”
3. Chris Janson featuring Dolly Parton and Slash
The country star employed two big names for his latest single, “21 Forever.” The twangy melancholy song is reflective and lovely. It’s about aging: you can’t be 21 forever. Parton adds her beautiful harmonies and Slash gives his signature thick guitar riffs.
4. Bush
This week legendary British-born rock band Bush released its newest single, the rockin’ song “All Things Must Change.” The band also announced the forthcoming release of the deluxe edition of their 2022 The Art Of Survival. Check out the newest track from the “Glycerin” singers below.
5. Kesha
The pop star released her latest visualizer video for the new single “Fine Line.” The emotive track comes from her forthcoming new LP, Gag Order, which is set to drop later this month. Check out the new work below.
6. Kim Petras featuring Nicki Minaj
Two of the biggest names in music released a joint new music video for their single “Alone.” The energetic pop hit is bright, shiny and will stick to your eardrums. Check it out below.
7. Gov’t Mule
Beloved roots rock band Gov’t Mule, which is led by guitarist Warren Haynes, released its newest single “Same As It Ever Was.” The rugged rocker is the opening track of the band’s forthcoming new studio album, Peace…Like A River, which is set to drop on June 16.
8. Greta Van Fleet
Greta Van Fleet shared the new music video for the band’s single “Meeting The Master,” which is from the group’s forthcoming new album, Starcatcher, set to drop on July 21. As always, the work achieves great heights, visually and musically.
9. Rufus Wainwright
One of the best singers in music, Rufus Wainwright shared his latest single, a rendition of the Neil Young song “Harvest,” featuring Andrew Bird and Chris Stills (Stephen’s son). Wainwright’s new album, Folkocracy, is out June 2.
10. Danielle Ponder
Singer Danielle Ponder released her latest single and accompanying music video for the track “Roll The Credits.” Check out the soulful, stirring work from the burgeoning star below.
11. Toosii featuring Khalid
The crossover rapper released a remix of his newest single “Favorite Song,” featuring the R&B star Khalid. The new, smoothed-out version is perfect for a rainy evening with your favorite takeout.
12. High Pulp
Recently, Los Angeles-based experimental jazz collective High Pulp announced that it will release the new album, Days in the Desert, later this summer on July 28. With it, comes the new thought-provoking song “(If You Don’t Leave) The City Will Kill You (feat. Daedelus).”
13. IDK featuring NLE Choppa
Skilled rapper IDK released his newest album, F65. With it came the new single “Salty,” featuring NLE Choppa. The song has enough energy to power the world’s servers.
14. Karley Scott Collins
Karley Scott Collins released her debut EP Hands on the Wheel. And with that, we wanted to highlight the album’s titular single from the country artist. With a voice dripping with emotion and experience, the artist declares herself here for much more.
15. BAILEN
The harmony-driven indie pop sibling band released its latest single this week, “Here We Are Again,” and it boasts delightful rhythms and lovely melodies. The new track is part of the band’s album, Tired Hearts, out now.
16. Rain City Drive
Rain City Drive released its “reimagined” version of the hit single “Blood Runs Cold.” The rhythmic acoustic-driven song delivers passion and inquisition via a lovely melody. The song is part of the band’s forthcoming new release, Rain City Drive (Deluxe), which is set to drop later this summer on June 23.
17. Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats
The raucous Colorado-born band released its newest single “Buy My Round,” which you can check out below in all of its surprising reserves. The new album from the band, What If I, is out later this summer on June 2.
