The 25-city string of dates begins on June 11 in San Antonio and continues with stops in Los Angeles, St. Louis, Detroit, Boston, and back to Dallas for the final gig on July 23.

Badu will be joined by longtime friend and collaborator Yasin Bey. The two have appeared together in concert as well as in movies like Dave Chappelle’s Block Party and often traveled in the same musical circles.

The 52-year-old Dallas-born Badu is an icon in the R&B world, known for her trippy, even at times-psychedelic music, she has long been a go-to when it comes to moody, nuanced songs. And Bey is one-half of the rap duo Black Star with his Brooklyn-born friend Talib Kweli. Bey’s solo album, Black on Both Sides, is considered a classic.

Tickets for the shows go on sale Thursday (April 20) at 2:22 p.m. local time via Ticketmaster.
