After the final night of the tour in Hollywood, Florida, Judd took to Twitter on Tuesday (Feb. 28) to not only honor her mother but also tribute to every person who was a part of the production.
“It’s done, Mama,” Judd writes with a heart emoji. “Thank you to the fans for lifting me up each night, to every single artist that showed up and offered their voice, to the best band I’ve ever toured with, & to the crew who worked around the clock to make all of this happen. I will never ever forget this tour!”
Stella Parton was among the many people who shared encouraging words in the comment section. “Bless you, honey,” Parton says. “I’m so proud of you, your grace and resilience. I love you! Yes, you are a phenomenal human being!”
“I will say, bye…for now,” Judd added. “‘It’s been one heck of a ride.’”
In April 2022, the mother-daughter duo announced dates for the tour just days before Naomi took her own life with a self-inflicted gunshot wound on April 30 at the age of 76. The Judds were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame on May 1. The younger Judd decided to carry forth with the tour, inviting special guests Kelsea Ballerini, Faith Hill, Ashley McBryde, Brandi Carlile, Martina McBride, Little Big Town, and Tanya Tucker to perform with her. The tour launched in September 2022 and extended into early 2023.
“I’m looking out into an audience where I see three and four generations and I see a man weeping,” Judd shared in an interview with American Songwriter for the March 2023 print issue. “Music is the healer, I believe that now more than I ever have believed in anything in my life. I think that this tour allowed me to see the best and the worst of life, so I’m going to have to write about it. I stay in the songwriting because it gives me something to hope for.”
