On January 22, director Joe Berlinger will debut “Under African Skies”, a film documenting the creation, controversy, and influence of Paul Simon’s legendary Graceland, at the 2012 Sundance Film Festival. The airing of the documentary will commemorate the 25th anniversary of Simon’s musical achievement. After its Sundance premiere, the documentary will be screened at international film festivals, limited theaters, and on A&E.

Joe Berlinger (“Brother’s Keeper, “Metallica: Some Kind of Monster”) documents the unique creation of Graceland, including the controversy created when Simon traveled to South Africa to record with local artists. Berlinger also portrays the lasting influence of the grammy-winning album, including interviews with musical legends such as Quincy Jones, Harry Belafonte, Paul McCartney, and numerous others. Overall, “Under African Skies” gives a fresh, revelatory perspective on Graceland.
