One of the hottest tickets announced for Nashville’s inaugural SoundLand music fest is M. Ward with Dawes and Jonny Corndawg at the War Memorial Auditorium on September 21.

In Dawes, you’ve got the band that Robbie Robertson (formerly of The Band) chose to back him up during his recent live appearances. The Los Angeles rockers describe what that experience was like, and the songwriting behind their new album Nothing Is Wrong, in our recent interview. Check it out.

M. Ward wears many hats. He’s the man Conor Oberst and Jim James, his brothers-in-arms in The Monsters of Folk, look to for advice, and he’s also one half of She & Him with Zooey Deschanel (look for the She & Him Christmas album this October). But more importantly, he’s a singer-songwriter and record-making auteur of the highest caliber. We picked Ward’s brain on production and songwriting back in 2005. We just had a feeling about this guy. Read our Monsters of Folk interview here and here.

Then there’s Jonny Corndawg, who we know very well. He’s touring in support of his killer new album, Down On The Bikini Line. Dig into our recent profile on Corndawg in our magazine, and for a taste of what’s to come, watch Corndawg perform some songs in our office here.

That’s just the three we know about. The bill promises special guests as well, which in this town, can mean just about anybody.

You can buy a single, $25 dollar ticket to the War Memorial gig here. As a little added incentive, the next 300 people who buy tix will win a free show poster. Soundland passes (a steal at $55 dollars) can be picked up here.
