It was 2015 when the sweet and talented Cassadee Pope came to her fans with the news that one of her best friends, Jason Gaviati, was in the battle of his life with cancer. Just a few months later, she shared the awful news that he had passed away from lymphoma.

And now, two years later, Cassadee has found a way to formally and forever recognize the important role Jason played in her life.

“I’ve been meaning to get this tattoo to honor Gavi and I finally made it to the parlor to get it,” she captioned a photo on her Instagram page on Nov. 21 of her getting inked.

Cassadee went on to mention the eerie coincidence of getting the tattoo on Nov. 21. “Hit me when I got home a few minutes ago that it’s the two year anniversary of his passing,” continued Cassadee. “I see you, Gav.”

Let that sink in for a moment. The heavens had to be smiling.
