The debate was whether Bruce Springsteen would perform with the Roots or the E Street Band when he appeared on Jimmy Fallon last night, but no one expected him to perform with Neil Young.

But the Boss donned some vintage Boss duds and a fake 1970’s-era beard to join Fallon for this Neil Young-ed out version of “Whip My Hair.” If you’re not familiar with it, here’s the deal– like all the songs Fallon has chosen to perform as his Canadian alter ego (“Double Rainbow,” “Pants On The Ground”), it’s an Internet viral sensation. The original is by nine-year-old Will Smith spawn Willow. We much prefer the remix.

Check out the Fallon video below. We can’t wait for the inevitable Neil Young/”Neil Young” duet.

There was plenty more Bruce Springsteen goodness on the show last night, including two live performances, an interview, and more. Click here for the videos.
