Bob Weir Dosed At Furthur Gig?

Did someone slip something into Bob Weir’s drink at Furthur’s gig at New York’s Nokia Theater July 28?

The veteran Grateful Dead guitarist and vocalist took several minutes to remember the words to “El Paso,” as evidenced in the video below.

Either he was having a senior moment, really couldn’t recall the lyrics (there are a lot of them), or, as many have speculated, he was tripping balls. As bassist Phil Lesh reportedly said during the band’s show the next night, “never drink out of something you haven’t poured yourself.”

One thing’s for sure: “El Paso” doesn’t sound half bad as an instrumental.
