Have you heard the rumor about the Rolling Stones?

According to news sources like MTV.com (the British edition), the world’s greatest rock band, who are approaching their 50th anniversary, will retire after one last world tour, which will stretch into 2012 (when the world will supposedly end anyway).

However, if you dig deeper, “The Rolling Stones have reportedly confirmed that they are not retiring.” That’s according to Digital Spy.

So which is it?

“The band realize that age is creeping up on them. They want to bow out on top of their game, and not short-change their fans,” a source tells The Sun newspaper.

According to the Digital Spy report, a representative for the band said: “No, they are not retiring.” This has been confirmed by Entertainment Weekly as well.

All we know is, Keith Richards will probably outlive us all, and whether they’re retiring or not, we definitely want to see them the next time they come around. If Paul McCartney is any indication, those over 64 can still rock.
