Van Morrison Revisits Astral Weeks With New Tour, DVD

When it rains, it pours. Van Morrison will release a new DVD, To Be Born Again in 2010, documenting his upcoming tour in which he will once again revive his seminal 1968 album, Astral Weeks. According to Rolling Stone, Morrison will direct the film, which will show the entire process of rediscovering the record, which he played live in it’s entirety for the first time in 2008.

“The film shows the real Van Morrison,” said Darren Doane, who co-directed Morrison’s Live at the Hollywood Bowl DVD, and will aid Morrison in the making of To Be Born Again. “It’s his film. And the film is about exposing and tearing down all the myths about Van Morrison and the music industry as a whole.”

Morrison will bring Astral Weeks back to the U.S. this fall for a special tour.
