Why isn’t Miranda Lambert calling the Grand Ole Opry stage “Home” yet?

Miranda Lambert has changed her outlook on a lot of things since her split from Grand Ole Opry member Blake Shelton this summer, and that includes her thoughts on an Opry membership for herself.

Lambert has played the Opry many times, including this surprise performance of “Home” with Shelton last year,  as well as a highly-successful appearance earlier this month to raise funds for her shelter dog charity, Mutt Nation Foundation.

Lambert would add a lot of star power to the Opry lineup, so it’s a bit odd that she’s not a member of the show, right? You won’t hear Lambert openly campaigning for a membership, though.

After receiving her star on the Music City Walk of Fame earlier this month in Nashville, Miranda told reporters, “It’s sort of something I don’t talk about.  You don’t ask or say that out loud. It was always a big deal to Blake. That was kinda something we always talked about, and he became a member. But I had never really sort of set it out for myself.”

Shelton became an Opry member in 2010, but there’s certainly a spot in the cast for Lambert, who has been named CMA Female Vocalist of the Year more than anyone in history.

Lambert might just be thinking it’s time she found a permanent home on that “magical” Opry stage, too.

“It wasn’t on my radar before because I focused on that for him,” Lambert explains. “but I definitely would never say no to being a member of the Grand Ole Opry, for sure.”
