After years of DIY-production and indie releases, alternative singer-songwriter Car Seat Headrest’s newest album, Teens of Denial, is the first to be recorded in a proper studio and alongside a producer and full band. The album drops on May 20 via Matador Records.

In advance of the forthcoming release, Car Seat Headrest shared the second single from Denial, “Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales” on Thursday. The new track follows the album’s first single, “Vincent,” which dropped last month. Watch the official lyric video for “Drunk Drivers/Killer Whales” and see the album’s full tracklist below.

Even though Denial will be a first in many respects for Car Seat Headrest (whose actual name is Will Toledo), it is actually the artist’s thirteenth album. The 23-year-old Toledo worked tirelessly to release 11 albums on Bandcamp while still in college. His first record for Matador, Teens of Style, was released in 2015 to critical acclaim.

For Teens of Denial, Toledo recruited veteran alt rock-producer Steve Fisk, who has produced records for Nirvana, Soundgarden and Screaming Trees.

Car Seat Headrest is currently on tour, and will continue with a string of dates after the release of Teens of Denial, as well. The tour includes stops at Chicago’s Pitchfork Music Festival and Barcelona’s Primavera Sound. Check out a full list of tour dates below.
