HOMETOWN: Hanover, Maryland
CURRENT LOCATION: Shady Side, Maryland
AMBITIONS: To successfully continue to write and perform my original songs and not have the time to wait tables any longer.
TURN-OFFS: Shopping, witnessing people text and drive, close-mindedness
TURN-ONS: Jost Van Dyke, yoga, days off and Blackberry Smoke
DREAM GIG: Playing Farm Aid.
FAVORITE LYRIC: “The desk bound clowns that run this town/Have watered down the sound just like their gin” – Allison Moorer
SONG I WISH I WROTE: “The Highway” by Holly Williams, “Fruits of My Labor” by Lucinda Williams, or “Foolishness” by Lucinda Williams
5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Kasey Chambers, Nancy Fuller, Neil Young, Charlie Starr, and Jimmy Fallon
MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: Probably in 2008 when I was in San Francisco and we went to see ZZ Top and Eagles of Death Metal at the Shoreline Amphitheater. Or 2014’s Farm Aid in Raleigh, North Carolina. The lineup was fantastic and seeing Neil Young perform solo was transcending. Or, the time I got to meet and hang with Lucinda Williams after her show at the Lincoln Theater in October of 2014.
I WROTE THIS SONG BECAUSE…My husband was traveling to Canada a couple years ago for work and he snapped a photo of a flower on the side of the road and his caption for the image was simply “Roadside Flower”. His job takes him away from me frequently, and sometimes I feel like a “Roadside Flower”, but I know that he does it for us.
