Videos by American Songwriter
ARTIST: Sasha Aaron
SONG: “I See Roses”
HOMETOWN: Miami, Florida
CURRENT LOCATION: Nashville, Tennessee
AMBITIONS: To write songs that make people think, “someone else out there gets me.” Traveling the world to play music. Attending San Diego Comic-Con.
TURN-OFFS: Arrogance, users, cilantro.
TURN-ONS: Sarcasm, sharp wit, almost anything nerdy.
DREAM GIG: I feel like I’ve already had one, getting the chance to sing my song “Red Roses and White Whiskey” with Clint Black on national television; however, there is nothing I would love more than to grace the stage of the Grand Ole Opry.
FAVORITE LYRIC: “Faithless love like a river flows/ Raindrops falling on a broken rose/ Down in some valley where nobody goes/ And the night blows in like the cold dark wind/ Faithless love like a river flows” – J.D. Souther
SONG I WISH I WROTE: “When You Say Nothing At All” – Keith Whitley
5 PEOPLE I’D MOST LIKE TO HAVE DINNER WITH: Stan Lee, Neil Gaiman, Stevie Nicks, J.J. Abrams, and Linda Ronstadt.
MY FAVORITE CONCERT EXPERIENCE: I have two. First, Fleetwood Mac. I grew up on their music and have been heavily inspired by them as a writer and an artist. Seeing them as a kid really hit home that this was what I wanted to do with my life. Second, Musicians On Call’s “Rock The Room” benefit here in Nashville. Seeing Reba and Martina in an intimate venue was pretty much a dream come true, and it was for a great cause.
I WROTE THIS SONG BECAUSE... as beautiful of a thing as love is, it’s not easy. Sometimes when you think a relationship is dying, you see (or want to see) a sign of hope, something that can bring it back to life, and this was mine and my co-writer’s (Bill DiLuigi) take on it.
