Kacey Musgraves Covers Mary Poppins for Disney

Last week, Disney released a compilation of modern artists covering classic songs from some of their biggest films, entitled We Love Disney. You can now stream Kacey Musgraves‘ contribution to the album, a western swing take on “A Spoonful of Sugar” from 1964’s Mary Poppins.

“‘Spoonful of Sugar’ stood out to me because I had never heard anyone do an updated version of it, and it just lends itself to being just so fun and it’s very ‘singy,’” Musgraves said of the track in the album’s commentary. “A lot of the songs I sing aren’t really like that at all. They’re quite the opposite… This was just a chance for me to really go for it.”

Other artists featured on the compilation include Gwen Stefani, Rascal Flatts, Ariana Grande and Fall Out Boy.
