Soul singer and performer Sharon Jones announced last Friday that the pancreatic cancer she was first afflicted with in 2013 has unfortunately returned. At the premiere of the documentary Miss Sharon Jones!, directed by Barbra Kopple and telling the story of Jones’ first bout with cancer, 59-year-old Jones told the crowd that she would begin chemotherapy on September 16 and that she would “keep fighting.”
