Current American Songwriter cover boy Chris Stapleton has racked up a wealth of critical and commercial acclaim for his Mercury Records debut, Traveller — and the accolades just keep pouring in. This morning, it was announced that the Kentucky-born singer-songwriter is up for three honors at the 49th Annual CMA awards, including “Album of the Year.”

Little Big Town leads the competition with six nominations, and Kacey Musgraves, who is featured in the current issue of American Songwriter, received three nominations.

ABC will broadcast the awards live from Bridgestone arena on November 4.  The CMA Awards are voted on by music industry professionals and are not “fan-voted” as is the case with some country awards shows. See the full list of CMA nominees below.
