The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced their nominees for the April 2015 induction ceremony.
Of the 14 nominees, five will be accepted after a vote by artists and music industry members. Fans also have the opportunity to vote on a special fan ballot on the Hall of Fame’s web site.
In order to be eligible for nomination, artists must have released their debut album more than 25 years ago and subsequently made a large contribution to the broader music industry. This is the second go-around for both Lou Reed and Sting, who were originally inducted for their work with The Velvet Underground and The Police, respectively.
