A new book, Punk Fiction: An Anthology of Short Stories Inspired By Punk, has just been released by Portico. Punk Fiction features artists like Billy Bragg, Billy Childish, and members of Bloc Party, the Kills, Long Blondes and Lightspeed Champion contributing a piece of creative writing based on their favorite punk song. A portion of the proceeds go to the Teenage Cancer fund. Maximo Park’s frontman Paul Smith’s story “Another Girl, Another Planet,” inspired by punk band the Only Ones’ song of the same name, can be read here. Thanks to Pitchfork for the heads up, and for bringing the funny: ” Hopefully everyone involved took more than two-and-a-half minutes to write their stories.”
