There’s a new Wilco album on the way, and it’s any body’s guess what will be on it, or what it will ultimately sound like. June will bring us the the answer to that question.

But there’s a chance that the follow-up to 2007’s polarizing (but awesome) Sky Blue Sky will have something no Wilco record before it has ever had — a female duet.

And we’re not talking Emmylou Harris, here.

Rolling Stone’s Smoking Section reports:

“Feist and the dudes in Wilco met at the Grammys last year, and she hit it off with everyone,” Smoking Section says. “She’s a Wilco fan, and the guys love her music, so they’ve kept in touch over the past year. Mr. Tweedy is a huge fan of duets, and wanted to work a duet into the new album. Feist was their first call. Everyone who’s heard the song has been ‘blown away.’”

The new song is called “You Am I.”

Sounds exciting.

What do you think? Is the idea of Jeff Tweedy and Feist singing together a match made in heaven, or should it be left on the cutting room floor?

Wilco will engage on a world tour on March 26th. Their new DVD, Ashes of American Flags, comes out April 18th.
